What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that uses a pen containing fine needles to penetrate the top layer of your skin.The pen causes micro injuries to stimulate your body to produce collagen and elastin to improve the texture and overall health of your skin. This technique will lead to a healthier layer of skin with a smoother texture, renewed firmness, can reduce pore size, can soften wrinkles and reduce appearance of stretch marks as well as scars. With as few as three non-invasive treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart, you can improve your appearance for six months after your last treatment – and step out with confidence.

What parts of the body can benefit from microneedling?

While Microneedling is usually applied to the face, the treatment can also be used on other parts of the body to improve stretch marks, wrinkles, and scarring. The most common areas to have Microneedling treatments besides the face include the:
• Neck
• Décolletage
• Back of Hands
• Stretch Marks
• Surgical scars

Who Should Consider Microneedling?

The best candidates for microneedling are men or women of almost any age who are concerned with the appearance of their skin. The most common are people concerned with dry skin, uneven skin tone, rough texture, age spots, loose skin, wrinkles on the face, neck, and chest. Microneedling can also improve acne, although candidates should not have an active acne breakout. Candidates will find that the microneedling process is very rewarding to the skin.

Does microneedling hurt?

The feeling associated with microneedling is similar to a light sandpaper being moved across the skin. The procedure takes 15-45 minutes depending on the size of the area treated. We also apply a topical numbing agent 30 minutes prior to your treatment to lessen the discomfort.

Is there downtime after Microneedling?

After the procedure, the skin will be red and flushed in appearance, similar to a moderate sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on certain areas. This will diminish significantly within a few hours following the procedure. Within the next 24 hours, the skin will have returned to normal. After three days, there is rarely any evidence that the procedure has taken place.

How soon will I see results from neurotoxin injections?

While the experience of each patient is different, results are visible in 7-14 days. The results should last 3-4 months.

What to expect after Dermal Fillers?

Immediately after the treatment, patients may experience slight redness, swelling or tenderness around the area that has been treated. They may also experience raised or inflamed skin as well itching in the treatment area. These side effects are completely natural and tend to subside in one to two days for the vast majority of patients, who experience them. On rare occasions, patients may also bruise. However, all of these symptoms will gradually disappear over a period of 7-14 days.
